The tour starts from Muscat, around a 100 km drive to the town of Nakhal to explore the magnificent Nakhal fort and hot springs.

From Nakhal, drive towards Rustaq, after turning off drive along Wadi Mistal. Reach up to the graded road and a very steep climb to the beautiful village of Wukan. The village is spectacular. Here there will be a short trek up through the village and beautiful fields to reach the top where you will get to see the magnificent view. Enjoy the picnic lunch at Wukan. Later return to the Rustaq road and then turn off to drive through the splendid Wadi Bani Auf.  Passing through the awesome Snake Gorge arrive at the charming village of Bilad Sayt surrounded by magnificent mountains. Backtrack a little before turning right past the village of Al Hajir.  Make a stop at the  Shorfet Al Alamin Hotel after experiencing the roller coaster ride road. The weather is quite cool in the region, warm clothes would be needed.

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed the journey to the village of Misfah Al Abriyeen, surrounded by spectacular date palms and cliff faces. Enjoy the beautiful stroll along the Falaj irrigation channels and paths. Later drive to Jabrin Castle, then towards Bahla Fort (UNESCO world heritage site). Local lunch at a local restaurant. Later head up to Jebel Shams a mountainous region in the AL Hamra town. It is best known as ‘The Grand Canyon of Arabia’ or the ‘Omani Grand Canyon. Jebel Shams nestles the highest mountains of Oman and is an important tourist destination. The word ‘Jebel Shams’ translates into ‘Mountain of the Sun’ since it receives the first sunrise of the region. The moderate temperature of the mountains during the summers makes it an ideal location to beat the Arabian heat. People coming here indulge in various activities including hiking, exploring nearby villages, camping, star-watching, night photography, etc foot of Jebel Shams. It is one of the most beautiful villages consisting of old houses with mud and palm frond roofs, beautiful wadis, and several hiking points. It has a falaj system for many orchards, date palms, and vegetables, it’s worth spending some time walking around the village Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.

Later drive for the short journey to the Balcony walk. This walk is suitable for most of them with moderate fitness. 

It offers amazing views over the Grand Canyon of Oman: An Nakhur. with limited elevation. The trek leads to abandoning the village and a natural pool and several caves. 

After a breathtaking experience, drive back to Nizwa to visit the Nizwa Fort and the Souq.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch head for the Desert Camp.

The camp will be set up in the desert. Enjoy the amazing experience of sunset by climbing the sand dunes. Set up the campfire while the dinner is served.

Enjoy the camping with no phone calls, no emails just the “sounds of silence”

Desert Camp – Wadi Bani Khalid  – Sur – Ras Al Hadd

After a memorable night in the wilderness of the Wahiba sands and morning breakfast, you can enjoy optional activities like camel rides, Paramotor flight, and quad biking across the desert. The same can be arranged upon request to our guide one night before. 

After enjoying the Desert proceed to one of Oman’s most popular and picturesque spots Wadi Bani Khalid. Enjoy swimming in the pools and soaking up some sun with a short walk in the wadi.

Drive then to Sur, historically was a center of shipping trade to East Africa and is also famous for its shipyards. Dhows can still be seen being built in the traditional way that has not changed for hundreds of years except for the engine. 

Continue the journey to Ras al Hadd and the Turtle Beach Camp. The guide will assist in setting up tents, a campfire, and preparing the BBQ dinner. 

The guide can organize an Optional Turtle watching Tour, which is not included as the turtles are critically endangered.

Ras Al Hadd– Wadi Shab – Bimmah Sink Hole – Wadi Arbeieen   

Breakfast at the camp. 

From Ras Al Hadd drive along a splendid coastline to Wadi Shab. Enjoy the fascinating trek with the waterproof camera and proper footwear and reach the beautiful waterfall at the end of the hike. You need to swim through two small pools and a keyhole cave!

Lunch at the restaurant.

Head towards the popular Bimmah Sink Hole. It is a beautiful place to swim or just dip your feet in for a fantastic free fish spa as the water contains many “doctor fish”!

After enjoying the drive along the coast, route to the majestic Wadi Arbeieen. 

After breakfast, enjoy the great fun of swimming in the large rock pool with a beautiful waterfall. Later drive to Wadi Dayqah Dam and reservoir. The Dam is an engineering marvel built in 2012. The dam is a great place to relax and is its favorite picnic spot near Muscat.

After enjoying the great tour return back to Muscat.

Nakhal:

Visit the 1500-year-old magnificent Nakhal Fort, located at the top of a rocky mountain cliff, surrounded by date plantations. The fort has witnessed many battles and it's packed full of hidden escape routes and secret passages. You can stroll around the restored ancient fort that has been decorated with traditional furniture and handicraft articles.

Wukan:

Located in Al Batinah South Governorate, the village sits 2,000 meters above sea level in Wadi Mastal in Wilayt Nakhal. 

The temperature in summer is moderate and in winter the region enjoys low temperatures. Many agricultural terraces produce fruit trees, including grapes, pomegranates, and apricots, as well as some legumes.

In Wukan village a trail has been built stretching for 1,100 meters, covering 700 steps rising to the top of the mountain. The trail is surrounded by a protective fence and observation towers that look like castles and umbrellas. The sitting areas and a rest shelter overlooking the village and its terraces available on the mountain top.

Wadi Bani Awf:

The “Snake Canyon” is a very narrow gorge situated in the middle of “Wadi Bani Awf”. 

The wadi leads directly to the picturesque Snake Gorge, which gets its name from the colubrine effect created by the mountains that "snake" through it. The gorge contains waterfalls emerging from its rocky walls, plenty of natural pools, and colossal boulders all around.

Misfat al Aberdeen:

500-year-old picturesque village on a steep slope at the foot of Jebel Shams. It is one of the most beautiful villages consisting of old houses with mud and palm frond roofs, beautiful wadis, and several, hiking points. It has a falaj system for many orchards, date palms, and vegetables, it’s worth spending some time walking around the village.

Jibreen Castle:

Jibreen Castle is one of the whimsical and well-preserved castles in Oman that was built in the 1600s. Observe the fine calligraphy etched into the walls, hand-painted ceilings, hand-carved door frames, decorative arches, windows, and balconies.

Bahla:

Famous for Bahla Fort, one of four historic fortresses situated at the foothills of Jebel Akdhar and the only fort in Oman listed in UNESCO World Heritage.

The town is also famous for Bahla Pottery Factory.

Jebel Shams  Oman's Grand Canyon:

Jebel Shams is a mountainous region in the AL Hamra town. It is best known as ‘The Grand Canyon of Arabia’ or the ‘Omani Grand Canyon.

Balcony Walk: 

Balcony Walk trek offers amazing views over the Grand Canyon of Oman: An Nakhur. with limited elevation. The trek leads to abandoning the village and a natural pool and several caves. Hike along a ledge on the edge of the Grand Canyon to the abandoned village of Al Sab is called “W6” by the Ministry of Tourism.

NIZWA:

Nizwa Fort is famous for its massive circular cannon tower, antiques, and silver jewelry. This ancient fort's history dates back to the 12th century. It was built by Sultan Bin Saif Yaruba, the first imam of the Yoruba Dynasty. When inside the fort, you’ll be thrilled to pass through its ancient doorways, narrow staircases and corridors, high-ceiling halls, and a maze of rooms.

Nizwa Souq is a place where you find hand-carved ceremonial daggers, called the ‘khanjars’, and ornate silver jewelry.

Wahiba Sands / Stay in the Desert Camp:

This spectacular Desert stretches over 200 kilometers from the Eastern Hajar Mountains to the Arabian Sea, the Wahiba Sands are also known as Oman’s adventure playground. The desert offer activities like an adventurous 4x4 drive in the sand dunes, camel rides, and zipping through the dunes on a sandboard, or quad bike. You can also watch the stunning sunset on one of the big sand dunes.

Wadi Bani Khalid:

One of the biggest and the most picturesque wadi in Oman surrounded by green palm trees sets the perfect example for a true oasis. Enjoy swimming in the deep blue cool water, sunbathing, and a short walk.

Sur:

The town is famous for its shipyards where the Dhows, the typical Omani boat, are still built with traditional methods. Visit the lighthouse and the fishermen's houses which carries the legacy of Africa with the doors of the carved houses.

Ras Al Hadd / Stay in Turtle Beach Camp:

Enliven your night while you watch the real Green Turtles LIVE! These turtles come from thousands of miles to this shore to lay their egg. You will get a chance to see these creatures without endangering or disturbing their lives and birthing cycles. Also, you can visit the interactive museum, and research laboratories and explore the plethora of information available.

Wadi Shab:

An enormous canyon gorge that is lined with palm trees and crystal clear water pools. A tourist can enjoy swimming, trekking through these pools and gorge, and once you come to the last pool, you can find an opening among the enormous rocks which allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall inside, the sunlight filters in from the outside, turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue whilst water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.

Bimmah Sinkhole:

A sea water-filled depression which is 30m deep is structurally a sinkhole, It's only 600 m away from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village. Locally known as “PLACE OF POWER”. Witness the most picturesque beauty in the desert. As the limestone mountain rocks fill the water and the cool breeze splashes you with freshness.

Wadi Arbeieen:

Wadi Al Arbaeen is located in the Al Sharqiyah region and is home to many turquoise pools of different sizes. A visit to a wadi is challenging due to the off-road drive and it is one of the most natural Wadis in Oman. 

Wadi Dayqah Dam:

Built-in 2012, Wadi Dayqah Dam is a reflection of Omani impressive engineering, it has a storage capacity of 100 million cubic meters of water.

Atop the damis a picnic area with great views for visitors to enjoy the spectacular Omani nature.
